WORLD WAR TWO ANZIO ITALY

The Battle of Anzio was an important battle of the Italian Campaign during World War II that took place on January 22, 1944.

The early hours of Jan. 22, 1944, a convoy of 374 ships landed the first Div.Britannica on the coast between the Towers Caldara and St. Lawrence north of Anzio and the third div. American took on the arc coastal land between Neptune and Torre Astura conventionally known as Peter Beach and X Ray Beach. It gave way off the operation “Shingle”, commissioned by W. Churchill strenuously and approved at the conference of Marrakech on 7-8 January. PHOTO Anzio 1944.
